Role: Registered Nurse PCCU – Medical ICU (Open Heart Surgery & Neurosurgery Pods)
Responsibilities: Develop and evaluate patient care plans, assess health data, communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams, provide education tailored to patient needs, support professional development of colleagues, offer psychological support, assist with procedures and medication administration, participate in quality improvement and research activities, monitor wound/ostomy care if skilled, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Active Illinois RN license
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Minimum 1 year inpatient nursing experience
- Preferred: ICU, ER, radiology, or wound/ostomy experience; certifications like CWON or CWCN
Key Duties: Provide safe, compassionate care, collaborate with healthcare teams, educate patients, and contribute to performance improvement. Support technical procedures and patient transport as needed.
