This role requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
Qualified candidates should have at least one year of cardiovascular and/or intensive care experience.
Certifications include:
- ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate for RN administering chemotherapy.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for ICU, ED, PACU, Endo, Tele, OB, MHN Pre-Op, and Specialty Procedural areas.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for pediatric units, with a 30-day window for non-pediatric RNs to obtain certification.
- Fetal Monitoring certification for L&D RNs within 30 days if applicable.
Newly licensed RNs must obtain ACLS, PALS, and Fetal Monitoring within six months of employment.
Education requirements include graduation from an accredited RN program. The role involves working in various clinical areas, ensuring patient safety, and adhering to department-specific credentialing standards.
