Role Overview:
The RN SANE Program provides specialized care to adult and adolescent sexual assault survivors, conducting medical forensic exams, assessments, specimen collection, and documentation with compassion and professionalism. The role involves working closely with emergency departments, law enforcement, advocates, and legal entities, ensuring compliance with forensic standards and participating in courtroom proceedings. The position requires a current Illinois RN license, certification in SANE, and preferably forensic nursing experience. Responsibilities include forensic collection, patient advocacy, peer review, and collaboration with external agencies. Skills in forensic procedures, trauma-informed care, and computer literacy (Epic) are essential.
