Role Overview:
Provides professional nursing care within an interdisciplinary team, applying nursing knowledge and the nursing process to manage patient care effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient status through interviews, observations, and physical exams.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Use evidence-based interventions to achieve patient outcomes, and evaluate patient progress continuously.
- Document care activities accurately, modify care plans as needed, and ensure professional accountability.
- Operate and troubleshoot medical equipment, perform bedside lab testing, and maintain quality control.
- Promote clinical excellence, safety, and patient education tailored to individual needs, considering cultural and developmental factors.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care, utilize team resources, and prioritize tasks based on patient conditions.
- Communicate effectively within the team, advocate for patients, and provide meaningful shift reports.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, data collection, and process enhancements to improve care and satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois, with BLS certification.
- Educational background in nursing, with demonstrated clinical knowledge.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, and ongoing professional development.
