Role: Director of Nursing (RN)
Summary: Oversees the Nursing Department in a skilled nursing facility, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards to deliver high-quality resident care. Responsible for managing staff, overseeing Education, Infection Prevention, and Wound Management programs, and developing individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize, develop, and supervise nursing operations and staff performance
- Coordinate infection control and wound care programs
- Assist in evaluating and implementing nursing care services
- Train, orient, and educate nursing staff as needed
- Supervise safety practices and standards in nursing practice
- Manage emergency situations and assume charge nurse duties if required
- Communicate with residents, families, and team members regarding care concerns
- Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
- Current RN license in good standing in New York State
- Wound Care Certification; SigmaCare experience a plus
- Supervisory or managerial experience in a long-term care or similar setting
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred) or five years of supervisory experience
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing needs
