Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering ionizing radiation treatments according to physician prescriptions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate radiation equipment safely and precisely, adhering to quality control standards.
- Assess and care for patients across all age groups, documenting in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Perform patient set-ups, simulations, and coordinate treatment schedules, ensuring safety protocols.
- Educate patients and families on treatment side effects and use of treatment aids.
- Report adverse reactions immediately and follow policies for documentation.
- Participate in safety procedures, warm-up routines, and maintain radiation safety badges.
- Assist in training students, support team tasks, and participate in on-call rotations.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited program.
- ARRT Radiation Therapy certification and BLS certification required upon hire.
- Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
- Skills in patient simulation, treatment, and safety practices.
