Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist (RT-CRT) provides respiratory care treatments, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for patients of all ages, from neonatal to geriatric. Responsibilities include setting up, monitoring, and weaning oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases and EKGs, delivering intermittent therapies, and assisting with airway management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s preferred
- Current State License as a Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Respiratory Therapist certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS within 90 days
- Proficiency in computer skills, Windows applications, and role-specific software
- Effective verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills
Key Duties:
- Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures per policies
- Review and document clinical information for each patient
- Educate patients and staff on procedures and treatments
- Conduct diagnostic procedures and provide age-appropriate care
- Adapt communication and behavior to patient needs, respecting privacy and safety
- Maintain compliance with organizational standards and participate in related duties as needed
