Position Overview:
The EmPATH Residential Counselor provides short-term, crisis stabilization treatment for individuals aged 18 and above within a 24/7 residential setting. They monitor clients, assist with therapeutic interventions, lead activities, and offer 1:1 counseling to support recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and organize daily activities, ensuring safety checks and property inventories are completed accurately.
- Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with standards, including logs and charts.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, communicating professionally and resolving conflicts constructively.
- Respond promptly to communication, ensure punctuality, and uphold excellent attendance.
- Transport clients as needed using personal or organizational vehicle, requiring a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including de-escalation techniques, and stay alert during shifts.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred with experience in community or crisis settings.
- Experience with mental health, co-occurring disorders, or crisis intervention is advantageous.
- Strong communication, cultural competency, and the ability to handle physical and emotional demands.
- Physical capability to lift and push heavy loads, and certification in de-escalation techniques required.
- Computer proficiency, including EMR systems.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license with endorsement, and flexibility for various shifts.
