Registered Nurse First Assist – Orthopedic Surgery

Role: A Registered Nurse First Assist Senior provides direct patient care in the preoperative setting by functioning as the first assistant to the surgeon.

Responsibilities:

Practices an expanded preoperative nursing role with the necessary knowledge, skills, and judgment to assist surgeons through organized instruction and supervised practice.

Interprets diagnostic studies, educates patients on health behaviors, and provides counseling to promote positive health outcomes.

Assesses, plans, implements, monitors, and evaluates patient care activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Associate’s Degree in Nursing

RN License in the state of employment or a compact license

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
