Role Overview
This position involves providing direct patient care in a specialized orthopedic/neuro spine unit within an acute care hospital.
Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care activities following nursing standards.Educate patients and families on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.Promote patient safety, quality care, and regulatory compliance, participating in professional development.Develop and document individualized care plans collaboratively, ensuring effective communication across care continuum.Use critical nursing skills to evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences and barriers.Maintain safety-sensitive responsibilities requiring alertness and safe work practices.Qualifications & SkillsRN license required.Diploma or Associate’s degree in nursing; Bachelor’s preferred.No prior experience necessary; less than 2 years preferred for higher education.Ability to work nights, with self-scheduling flexibility.
