Hemodialysis Clinical Nurse – (PRN) Nights

Role Overview:


Provides direct patient care in a hemodialysis setting, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for inpatients requiring dialysis.


Responsibilities include:

  • Promoting patient and family-centered care by educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
  • Participating in safety, quality, and regulatory activities, and engaging in ongoing professional development.
  • Developing and documenting individualized care plans collaboratively with the healthcare team, patient, and family.
  • Assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences, values, and cultural factors.
  • Ensuring communication across care continuum and working in a safety-sensitive role.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • RN license required; Nursing Diploma or Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • No prior experience necessary; less than 2 years of experience and supervisory experience are optional.
  • Previous hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis experience required.

Additional Details:

  • PRN position with 2-12 hour night shifts per schedule, including rotating holidays.
  • Requires working call 1-2 times weekly, including some weekends.
  • Staggered hours ensure continuous patient coverage in a 24-hour dialysis unit monitored by RNs.
