Role Overview:
This position involves providing independent nursing care in an Emergency Department setting, focusing on immediate treatment of medical and surgical emergencies. The nurse assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, addressing complex physical, emotional, and social needs. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring treatment effects, documenting patient information, and educating patients and families. The role requires delegation and collaboration with care team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering routine and complex nursing care per standards and protocols
- Assessing patient conditions and implementing appropriate interventions
- Monitoring medication effectiveness and side effects
- Providing patient and family education on health conditions and treatments
- Documenting clinical information accurately
- Delegating tasks and collaborating with healthcare team members
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- 1+ year of relevant nursing experience preferred
- Current RN license and BLS certification required
- Additional certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC within specified periods
- Ability to work independently and handle complex clinical situations
- Strong communication and patient education skills
