Position Overview: A Physical Therapy Assistant provides skilled education, treatment, and interventions under the direction of a physical therapist and physician, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct physical therapy services following the plan of care.
- Communicate regularly with patients and caregivers about treatment plans.
- Perform treatments and procedures ensuring patient safety.
- Report patient observations and changes to supervisors and physicians.
- Relieve pain and restore or develop function to maintain performance.
- Educate patients and caregivers on device use and rehabilitation techniques.
- Coordinate with other disciplines on care plans and discharge instructions.
- Participate in in-service programs and ensure documentation accuracy.
- Maintain confidentiality, ethical standards, and professional conduct.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current, unrestricted state license as a PTA.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
