Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant PTA Part Time PRN

Position Overview: A Physical Therapy Assistant provides skilled education, treatment, and interventions under the direction of a physician within the home health setting. The role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, updating on patient progress, and ensuring optimal well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct physical therapy services per the physical therapist’s guidance and physician’s plan of care.
  • Communicate regularly with patients and caregivers about the treatment plan.
  • Provide therapy treatments to alleviate pain, restore or develop function, and ensure patient safety.
  • Report patient observations and changes to supervisors and physicians.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on the use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices, and promote recovery techniques.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines on the patient’s care plan.
  • Plan discharge, prepare instructions, and communicate discharge details.
  • Participate in in-service training and maintain professional standards and confidentiality.
  • Accurately document patient progress and treatment notes to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current, unrestricted state license as a PTA.
  • Valid CPR certification.
