Certified Occupational Assistant (COTA) – Home Health

The Home Care Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supports patient recovery by assisting in treatment plans to improve or adjust activities of daily living.
Responsibilities include reviewing orders, following the patient’s care plan, educating patients and families, documenting visits and assessments, communicating with the healthcare team, and aiding discharge planning.
They evaluate patient function, observe treatment reactions, instruct family members, and recommend home safety improvements.
Qualifications require an Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance, licensure as an OTA, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of experience.
Skills needed include teamwork, reliable transportation, and effective communication.
This role involves providing occupational therapy services in patients’ homes, assessing safety, and ensuring proper equipment and education for ongoing care.
