Occupational Therapist (OT) – Ortho/Sports Med

Role Overview:

Responsible for developing and implementing occupational therapy treatment plans aimed at alleviating pain, restoring function, preventing disabilities, and promoting overall health. Acts as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students, ensuring safe patient handling and respectful care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs individualized care plans with measurable goals and adjusts based on patient response.
  • Performs patient assessments, including examinations and screenings, to determine diagnoses and therapy needs.
  • Creates, fits, and modifies custom splints/orthotics.
  • Educates patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare teams using effective teaching methods.
  • Coordinates with support personnel, monitors care quality, and provides feedback.
  • Communicates with the medical team and maintains accurate documentation.
  • Serves as a clinical instructor and actively participates in team and departmental activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) with valid certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
  • Strong patient transfer skills, body mechanics awareness, empathy, and effective communication.
