Role Overview:
Responsible for developing and implementing occupational therapy treatment plans aimed at alleviating pain, restoring function, preventing disabilities, and promoting overall health. Acts as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students, ensuring safe patient handling and respectful care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs individualized care plans with measurable goals and adjusts based on patient response.
- Performs patient assessments, including examinations and screenings, to determine diagnoses and therapy needs.
- Creates, fits, and modifies custom splints/orthotics.
- Educates patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare teams using effective teaching methods.
- Coordinates with support personnel, monitors care quality, and provides feedback.
- Communicates with the medical team and maintains accurate documentation.
- Serves as a clinical instructor and actively participates in team and departmental activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) with valid certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
- Strong patient transfer skills, body mechanics awareness, empathy, and effective communication.
