Surgical Technologist

Role Overview: Provides surgical technology support for both direct and indirect patient care, assisting surgeons during operative and invasive procedures. Acts as a resource, trains new technologists and students, and functions as an informal lead when needed. Utilizes advanced knowledge to mentor peers, improve efficiency, and elevate performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgeon-specific procedures, ensuring readiness and proper setup.
  • Performs scrubbing on a variety of procedures, adapting to surgeon preferences and handling routine and emergency cases confidently.
  • Anticipates intraoperative needs, manages unexpected events, and provides appropriate interventions.
  • Mentors staff and students, demonstrating critical thinking and intraoperative decision-making.
  • Communicates effectively with team members, shares knowledge, and collaborates to ensure case success.
  • Participates in on-call duties and maintains flexibility for scheduling needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
  • Associate’s degree or certification in Surgical Technology.
  • Willingness to accept new graduates.
  • Strong technical skills, adaptability, teamwork, and effective communication.
