Role Overview:
The Cardio-Pulmonary Admit/Discharge RN provides specialized care for adult patients with cardiac and pulmonary conditions in a fast-paced 50-bed unit.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and modify individualized care plans.
- Administer and manage cardiac drips, medications, and medical devices like pacemakers and ICDs.
- Prepare patients for procedures, monitor labs, and support post-procedure recovery.
- Ensure accurate documentation in EMR and coordinate patient discharges with instructions for safe transition.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, communicate professionally, delegate tasks appropriately, and manage patient safety and safety hazards.
- Engage in conflict resolution, provide patient education, and uphold standards of care including basic needs such as turning and toileting.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Active RN license and BLS certification (within 30 days), ACLS certification within one year.
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent; experience in cardiac or pulmonary care preferred.
- Strong communication, teamwork, assessment, and clinical skills, including equipment use like telemetry monitors and IV pumps.
