Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical

Role Overview:
The Medical Surgical Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care within a multidisciplinary unit. They supervise nursing assistants, perform patient assessments, develop and modify care plans, and ensure accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and evaluate patient care procedures, including therapies and interventions such as IV access, injections, and device management.

Respond to emergencies, collaborate with the healthcare team, and promote patient safety and satisfaction through effective communication and bedside reporting.

Delegate tasks, transcribe orders, administer medications following the five rights, and maintain safety precautions like fall and pressure ulcer prevention.

Engage in continuous learning, professional development, and uphold departmental standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Current RN license in Illinois and BLS certification.
College diploma in nursing with relevant experience.
Knowledge of unit procedures, patient safety protocols, and effective team communication.
Critical thinking, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills to provide high-quality patient care.
