Occupational Therapist (OT)

Position Summary

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients based on physician referrals, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • NBCOT certification required upon hire; renewal is optional
  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT)
  • Active state licensure in good standing
  • Preferred: one year of post-acute care experience
  • CPR certification upon hire, maintained throughout employment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, assess, and modify patient treatment plans and goals
  • Oversee therapy provided by OTAs, aides, and students
  • Document patient progress accurately and timely
  • Utilize therapy software effectively
  • Maintain professional relationships and confidentiality
  • Participate in community health initiatives as appropriate
  • Ensure safety, patient rights, and sanitation standards
  • Assist in emergency evacuations and work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and excellent customer service

Ability to perform physical activities, communicate effectively in English, and adhere to policies is essential for success in this role.
