The Occupational Therapy Assistant will administer prescribed treatments across all age groups, contribute to program development, and ensure effective operations.
They will communicate and document in line with agency policies, promote program effectiveness, and organize work efficiently. The role involves maintaining schedules to improve performance, demonstrating core values daily, and fostering positive relationships with colleagues, patients, families, and physicians. Maintaining customer satisfaction and embodying the agency’s mission, vision, and values are essential. Qualifications include an associate degree from an accredited program, state licensure, CPR certification, and preferably one year of experience. Technical skills involve knowledge of home health procedures, patient equipment, manual therapy, and proper patient handling. Interpersonal skills require professionalism and positive interactions. Physical demands include lifting over 50 lbs, transferring patients over 100 lbs, reaching, bending, and occasional stair climbing. Mental abilities encompass clinical reasoning, prioritization, learning new skills, and computer proficiency. Sensory requirements include clear vision and communication. Exposure to hazards such as noise, infectious diseases, and patient-related risks is possible. The position offers a 40-hour workweek, with variable hours, including weekends and holidays. Services are provided to adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics. Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license and operational vehicle.
