Radiologic Technologist

Responsible for acquiring high-quality diagnostic radiographic images across various procedures to ensure optimal patient care.

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiology Program or have equivalent education recognized by the ARRT to sit for the certification exam.
  • Certification requirements include ARRT in Radiography within 3 months of hire and TDSHS Medical Radiologic Technologist certification within 6 months.
  • Possess a current Healthcare Provider CPR certification or obtain it during orientation.
  • Demonstrate skills in time management, organization, communication, radiologic equipment knowledge, and patient-centered behaviors.
  • Perform quality radiographs, adapt procedures based on patient conditions, adhere to safety and infection control standards, and document exams accurately.
  • Interview patients, explain procedures, obtain medical history, administer contrast media appropriately, and ensure proper image labeling.
  • Maintain equipment through quality assurance checks, report malfunctions, and ensure readiness of supplies and room setup.
  • Transport patients, coordinate with healthcare providers, and prioritize exams to optimize workflow.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, promote departmental values, and collaborate within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Respond promptly to communications, share shift updates, and serve as a resource and role model for staff and students.
  • Maintain professional licensure and participate in ongoing training and development, advocating for patient care and departmental excellence.
