This Sonographer role involves performing diagnostic, therapeutic, and biopsy ultrasound procedures under supervision and medical direction.
Responsibilities include conducting ultrasound studies and biopsies, positioning patients, selecting appropriate transducers, reviewing orders, and collaborating with physicians.
Ensures patient safety by verifying identities, documenting accurately, and maintaining confidentiality.
Prepares sterile fields, assists radiologists during procedures, captures images, and operates ultrasound equipment effectively.
Post-processes images, maintains equipment, and reports malfunctions.
Provides compassionate patient care, explains procedures, and ensures safety protocols.
Participates in resuscitation efforts during emergencies, maintains supplies, and shares on-call duties.
Mentors new staff and students, pursues continuing education, and attends departmental meetings.
Requires at least 2 years of post-graduate sonography experience, completion of an approved ultrasound training program or equivalent experience, and certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
Preferred qualifications include experience in general, breast, vascular, and obstetric imaging, along with relevant certifications and an associate’s degree.
