Senior Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

This Sonographer role involves performing diagnostic, therapeutic, and biopsy ultrasound procedures under supervision and medical direction.

  • Responsibilities include conducting ultrasound studies and biopsies, positioning patients, selecting appropriate transducers, reviewing orders, and collaborating with physicians.
  • Ensures patient safety by verifying identities, documenting accurately, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Prepares sterile fields, assists radiologists during procedures, captures images, and operates ultrasound equipment effectively.
  • Post-processes images, maintains equipment, and reports malfunctions.
  • Provides compassionate patient care, explains procedures, and ensures safety protocols.
  • Participates in resuscitation efforts during emergencies, maintains supplies, and shares on-call duties.
  • Mentors new staff and students, pursues continuing education, and attends departmental meetings.
  • Requires at least 2 years of post-graduate sonography experience, completion of an approved ultrasound training program or equivalent experience, and certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience in general, breast, vascular, and obstetric imaging, along with relevant certifications and an associate’s degree.
