Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs a variety of professional nursing duties for patients in clinical areas.

Essential Functions

  • Administers and documents medications per hospital policies, understanding medication effects and side effects.
  • Identifies emergencies, responds calmly, and verifies surgical instruments before closure.
  • Follows standards for nursing care, creating a safe environment and applying the nursing process.
  • Attends meetings and in-services, maintains good attendance, works independently, and ensures customer satisfaction.
  • Makes rounds, coordinates daily activities, and adjusts work to meet patient needs.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications

    Education:

    • Required: High School Diploma/GED and completion of an accredited nursing program.
    • Preferred: Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Nursing.

    Experience:

    • Preferred: Two years of nursing experience.

    Certification/Licensure:

    • Required: RN license in Texas and BLS certification (must obtain within 90 days).
    • Preferred: Specialty certifications (e.g., Nursing Specialty, ACLS, PALS).
